Funeral service for Ruth E. Hobbs will be 12:30 P.M. Monday, March 27, 2017 in the Becker-Rabon Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. J. O. Howard, pastor of The Church of God officiating.
Burial will follow in Fort Sill National Cemetery, Elgin, Oklahoma.
Ruth E. Hobbs age 75 of Lawton, Ok., went to be with her Lord on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 surrounded by her family and friends. She was born at Birds Point, Mo. May 25, 1941 to Woodrow W. Kidd and Elsie Maude Williams Kidd. She attended public school in Charleston, Mo.
She married Lee F. Golightly on August 1, 1958 and they had four children, Greg, Tammy, Teresa, Sherry. She married William F. Hobbs on May 4, 1977.
Ruth worked for Lawton public schools for 36 years as a Monitor for special needs students and loved every child she encountered. She loved the work she did and the people she worked with for all those years. Previously she worked for the Fort Sill Post Exchange for two years. She loved being with her family during the holidays and made sure everyone had plenty to eat. It was important to her to know what was going on with her children and grandchildren always. She always had some good advice for them all. She was in charge and everyone knew it.
Ruth is survived by her husband, William Hobbs of the home, Her children, Greg Golightly of Duncan, Ok, Tammy and Teresa Golightly, both of Lawton, Ok., Sherry and husband Tommy Aguiar of Brandon, Fl., 11 grandchildren, Paula and husband Patrick Becker, Mikel Lewis and friend Ryan, Holly and husband Tom Smyczek, Ashley Kruger, Christina and husband Derick Jayska, Tomas Aguiar, Kathellena and Brent Hagen, Thomas and Zack Gilmore, Jason and Shawn Golightly, 14 great grandchildren, Ty and Eddie Smyczek, Katelynn and Kourtney Stanley, Kevin and Kandise Smith, Darrell Lewis, Christopher, Matthew, Patrick Becker, Lilliana, Madalynn, and Gracey Jayska. Bentley Gilmore.
Also surviving are her sister, Mable Sims and friend Paul Bone of Charleston, MO, her brother, Mack Kidd of Toccoa, GA,, her sister-in-law, Lois Kidd of Plant City, Fl, her sister, Connie and husband David Noel of Edwardsville, IL., her brother-in-law, Bill Baugh of Mitchell, IL, her sister-in-law, Susie and husband Ed Hair of Woodland Park, CO, her niece, Johnna and husband Jeff Hall of Charleston, Mo., and many other family members and friends.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Elsie Kidd, father, Woodrow Kidd, sister, Kathryn Baugh, father-in-Law, William G. Hobbs and mother-in-law, Marie E. Hobbs.
