Burial will be at 11:00 AM, Monday, Mar. 27, 2017 at the Natchez National Cemetery under the direction of Concordia Funeral Home.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7PM, Friday, at the funeral home.
Johnny was born on Feb. 2, 1949, Ferriday, LA, the son of Samuel, Jr. and Yvonne Washington Brown.
Mr. Brown had served on the board since 2005 and had previously served on the Concordia Parish School Board and had been director for the Concordia Parish Recreation District No. 1. Brown had been a Pastor, as well as an educator in the Tensas and Concordia Parish School systems. He was reelected as councilman to the board in March 2016, Town of Ferriday. He was also a member of Omega Psi Phi and American Legion Post 536.
Johnnie was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Joyce Ann Brown;a son, Joshua Brown; a grandson, Patrick Hall, Jr.
Survivors include his two sons, Jeremy Brown(fiancée Tiffanee), Baton Rouge, LA, Johnnie Brown, Jr.(fiancée Denisha), Ferriday,LA; two daughters, Jahnshana Brown, Jacqueline Brown, both of Houston, TX; three brothers, Donnell Brown(Abby), San Antonio, TX, Anthony Brown(Brigida), Baton Rouge, LA, U.L. Brown, Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Paulette B. Warner, Monroe, LA, Eunice B. Jackson, Marrero, LA, Ophelia Moore(Jimmie), Portland, OR; seven grandchildren, Aiyden Lewis, Jaicee Brown, Aniya Reese, Peyton Ann Hall, Ty'Ren Brown, DeJuan Moore, Aliyae Butler; one aunt, Ethel Batiste, San Mateo, CA; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
