Robert Lynn Plant, 69, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017, in Richmond, Ky.

Robert was born Aug. 15, 1947, in Kittanning, Pa., the son of the late William G. and Laverta Jean Plant of Warren.

Robert was a 1965 graduate of Howland High School.

He served our country in the U.S. Navy on the USS Hunley during the Vietnam era.

He retired from General Electric, Kentucky Glass Plant, in 2006, in Lexington, Ky.

Robert loved fly fishing and hunting. He mastered fly fishing and the art of tying flies for his hobby.

On Oct. 19, 1974, he married the love of his life, Irene Spala, and they dearly loved each other for 42 years.

His memories will be cherished by those he leaves behind, his wife, Irene of Richmond, Ky.; brother, James Plant of Pagosa Springs, Colo.; cousins, Donald and Jean English of Brookville, Pa.; Donald Jr. and Katie English (Kimberly, Evan, and Jade) of Westphalia, Mich.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorial services with military honors will be held at a later date in All Souls Cemetery in Bazetta.
