JOHN B. ZUBATY , 88, of Savanna, died Monday. Grave-side services and internment will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Savanna. The Rev. Moises Apostolic will be officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at the Law-Jones Funeral Home, Savanna. He was born July 5, 1915, in Savanna to Frank and Frances Yureck Zubaty. He married Elizabeth Ann Condon on Feb. 27, 1954, in Savanna. She died in 1993. He served in the United States Army, 311th Engineering Co., during World War II. He worked with his brothers on the Milwaukee Railroad. Following World War II, he worked with the Civilian Conservation Corps. He then worked most of life tending bar in Savanna. He was a past member of the Savanna Moose Lodge and the Savanna Veterans of Foreign Wars. Survivors include two children, Julianne and David, both of Spokane, Wash.; and one sister, Ann Robbins of Savanna. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, two sisters and four brothers.
