She was born March 27, 1939, in Fostoria, to Wilbur and Mary Elizabeth (McGuire) Huth, who preceded her in death. She married Charles R. "Bump" Elchert on July 13, 1957, and he survived.
Other survivors included: a son, Richard Elchert of Tiffin; four daughters, Mrs. Diane Tiell, Mrs. Helena T. "Tina" Woelke, and Mrs. Sharon R. Conley, all of Tiffin, and Mrs. Beth Dell of New Riegel; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Preceding her in death was a son, Edmund Ley Elchert; a brother, Charles Huth; and a sister, Marilyn Petit.
Mrs. Elchert was a 1957 graduate of St. Wendelin High School in Fostoria. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
A Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 2, 2001, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with the Rev. James K. Say officiating. Interment was in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery.
Visitation was held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Friday, June 1, 2001, at Hannay-Traunero Funeral Home.
