Heggen Funeral Scheduled

Kremlin area homesteader, Chris L. Heggen, Sr., 89, died in a Havre hospital Sunday, July 15. Funeral services will be held in the Holland and Bonine funeral home on July 19, at 11 a.m., with burial in Highland cemetery.
Born in Norway, Nov. 11, 1883, Heggen came to Montana from North Dakota in 1911 to homestead south of Kremlin. He married the former Olivia Reum in June of 1913 in Harvey, N.D., and the couple made their home in the Kremlin area. He was a member of the Lutheran Church.
His wife preceded him in death in 1948. Among survivors are children, Mrs. Bud (Othilla) Kincaid, Shelby; Mrs. Floyd (Clara) Johnson, Glasgow; Mrs. Bill (Josie) Engelking, Helena; Mrs. Charles (Florence) Johns, Pendroy, Mont.; Mrs. Borghil Thomas, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Charles (Mabel) Cooper, Mount Vernon, Wash.; Lloyd, Florence, Mont.; Chris Jr. and Clifford, Kremlin, Mont.; 24 grandchildren and 30 great grandchildren; and sisters, Mrs. Martha Lockren, Harvey, N.D., and Mrs. Laura Larson, Torrance, Calif.
