High school classmate. I Still Remember You. Today has been an emotional day for me. Maybe it's the age thing. I think back to Ledford High School and remember smoking out on the patio. I also remember hearing about your sacrifice. Yours and Lewis's sacrifice will forever be in my heart as well as the sacrifices of your comrades.
Steve Hedrick,

Fellow Veteran An Khe Vietnam. Thomasville NC. I found your gravesite a few years ago. Seemed like it was closer to the old oak tree the day of your funeral. I have and will keep a flag on you hallowed ground as long as I am able. Ironic we served in the same division years apart. I will always remember playing church league softball with you and the others. The team broke up with so many going to serve their country. God bless you and some day the team will get back together again. Mark Hedrick.

He served with Charlie Company, 1st Battalion, 22nd Infantry, 4th Infantry Division, USARV.

He was awarded The Bronze Star Medal, The Combat Infantryman's Badge(CIB), The Purple Heart Medal for his combat related wounds, The Vietnam Service Medal, The Republic of Vietnam Campaign Service Medal, The National Defense Service Medal.
