Gerald D. Herbert, 74, Muncie, passed away Sunday, March 19, 2017 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital.
He was born July 22, 1942 in Muncie, Indiana, the son of Elmer and Marguerite (Parish) Herbert. After school, Gerald started working at Colonial Bakery where he worked until his retirement. He was a member of True Light Baptist Church, and Eagles Lodge. Gerald was an avid camper and enjoyed fishing, hunting, and bowling. He enjoyed just being outdoors. He was a big Muncie Central Bearcat fan.
Survivors include his wife, Shirley Herbert, three children, Tracy (husband Michael) Masters, Kelly (husband Darryl) Fletcher; Cody (wife Melanie) Herbert, grandchildren Cheyenne Wake, step grandchildren Jennifer (husband Darryl) Ball, great grandchildren, Riley Elizabeth, Step grandchildren Benjamin Fletcher, and Patricia Montemurro, sister Patty Cooper. Also several nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews survive.
Services will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 22, 2017 at Elm Ridge Funeral Home, 4600 W. Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, Indiana 47304. Burial will follow in Elm Ridge Memorial Park.
