Rubye was born on November 13, 1921, in Stokes County to William Luther and Lula Alley Lankford.
She was a member of Morris Chapel United Methodist Church and the Robert West Sunday School Class.
Rubye retired from Adams Millis Hosiery Mill in 1986.
In addition to her parents, Rubye was preceded in death by her husband, Wade White; a son, Michael H. White; and eleven brothers and sisters.
Surviving are her son, Timothy Wade White (Susan); five grandchildren: Ashley Wilson (Chris), Graham White all of Kernersville, Michelle Treadway (Scott) of Winston-Salem, John Riley (Heather) of Raleigh, and Kimberly Nelson (Roger) of Pleasant Garden; four great-grandchildren: Grayson Treadway, Drake Riley, Alexis Riley, and Samantha Nelson; one sister, Ruth Ingram of Kernersville; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, March 26, 2018, at Eastlawn Gardens of Memory with Rev. Dan Lyons officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018, at Hayworth-Miller Kernersville Chapel.
