Obituary for Antoinette "Toni" Wheeler

Softly in the morning, you heard a gentle call, you took the hand God offered you and quietly left us all…..Antoinette “Toni” (Greci) Wheeler, 73, of Colonial Drive, Towanda and formerly of Rome, Pa went to her heavenly home and was reunited with her husband Jim, on Saturday, March 18, 2017. Toni, as she was affectionately known by her family and friends was born on January 17, 1944 in Johnson City a daughter of Bernardino and Ann (Fiorini) Greci. On September 5, 1987 in Endicott she married Frank James Wheeler and together they shared twenty-two years of marriage until his passing on January 31, 2010. Toni treasured the friendships she had made with her friends living in Towanda and often spent evenings playing games and dining out. She enjoyed adult coloring books and loved to crochet….although her greatest pleasure was cuddling up with her cat Spooky. 

Toni, is survived by her sister Mary Ann Alimonti of Endicott; her brother Dino Greci of Minnesota; nephews Angelo Alimonti of Endicott; Bernie Alimonti and Shannon Wood of Endwell; a uncle: Robert Fiorini, her sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Ron and Sandy Schoonover and family of Wysox; Bonnie Hurbert and family of North Carolina; Roger and Pam Wheeler and family of North Carlolina. Toni was welcomed into heaven by her parents; her husband Frank James Wheeler; her mother-in-law: Hilda Wheeler; brother in law: Duane Robert Ellis; and sister-in-law: Linda Drew and her cat Snoopy. 

Family and friends are invited to attend a period of visitation on Wednesday, March 22, 2017 from 10 to 11 am at the Sutfin Funeral Chapel, 273 S. Main St., Nichols. A funeral service and celebration of her life will follow at 11 am at the funeral chapel with Deacon Michael Donovan, officiating. Spring interment will be held in the Nichols Cemetery.
