Norma Tretter Pierce, a retired hair stylist who once operated three beauty shops in Vancouver, Wash., died of abdominal cancer Friday at a Vancouver hospital. She was 71.
Mrs. Pierce was born Feb. 1, 1922, in Rio Vista, Texas. She had lived in Vancouver since 1945. Mrs. Pierce retired from business in 1985.
Mrs. Pierce's first husband, Bernard Tretter Sr., died in 1978. She married Bert Pierce in 1981. A son, Nick Tretter, died in 1963.
Survivors include her husband, Bert; three sons, Bernard Tretter Jr. and Frank Tretter, both of Vancouver, and Richard Pierce of Port Angeles, Wash.; two daughters, Sharon Pierce Habluetzel and Judi Pierce Larson, both of Vancouver; and two brothers, Earl Kirkland of Tucson, Ariz., and Sam Harris of Vancouver.
The funeral will be at 4 p.m. Monday in Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel in Vancouver. Burial will be in Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
