A service will be at 3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 3, 1996, in Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel for Orvie B. Townsend, who died Aug. 30 at age 84.
Mr. Townsend was born Nov. 24, 1911, in Banks. He worked as a control room operator for Alcoa Aluminum He and retired in 1974. His wife, Wilma, died in February.
Survivors include his sons, Terry of Vancouver, Wash., and Roy of Kingston, Wash.; brother, Glenn of Beaverton; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
Private interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.

Mr. Townsend, who enjoyed playing and watching sports, was born Nov, 24, 1911, in Banks, Ore.
His wife, Wilma, died earlier this year.
He is survived by two sons, Terry of Vancouver and Roy of Kingston, Wash.; a brother, Glenn of Beaverton, Ore.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.
A service will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday at Memorial Gardens Funeral Chapel. Private burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
