Dale B. Tucker, 89, of Carpendale, died Sunday, March 19, 2017 at The Lions Center.

Born January 31, 1928 in Moundsville, WV, he was the son of the late Benjamin Tucker and Pearl May (Blair) Payne.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Harry Payne; his granddaughter, Kelly Nichols Bailey; one brother, John Davis Tucker; and, two sisters, Ruth Lee Miller and Peggy James.

Dale had served in the Seabees during WWII. He also belonged to the Merchant Marines.

He retired as a 2nd. Class Technician with TCI of Maryland. He had started his career with PVTV.

Dale was a life member of the Cumberland Outdoor Club. He was also a member of Gold Star Post #6452, V.F.W., Ridgeley, and the N.R.A.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 67 years, Joan N. Tucker; his daughter, Yvonne Nichols and husband William, Short Gap; grandson William Scott Nichols, wife Kris, and their son Brady Tucker Nichols. He also has two great, granddaughters, Skylar Brook Martin and Emily Blair Bailey.

As per his request, there will be no visitation.

The funeral service will be held at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., 202 Greene St., Cumberland, on Friday at 11 AM, with Rev. Richard Jewell, officiating.

Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
