Martin Emory Harris, Jr. , 81, of 100 Anglin Road, Spencer, died Thursday, January 8, 2015, at Blue Ridge Nursing Home in Stuart.
He was born May 26, 1933, in Woolwine, Virginia , to the late Martin Emory Harris, Sr. and Gertrude Dillon Harris. He attended Woolwine High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. Mr. Harris was of the Christian Faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Jane Belton Harris, a daughter, Donna Hogan and a son, Wayne Harris.
He is survived by two daughters, Kay Witt and husband Barry, Margaret Tench and husband Kevin, a son, Mark Harris and wife Ann; two sisters, Louise Marion and Lucille Akers, a brother, Harmon Harris and seven grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 10, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. at Mayo Christian Church with Pastor Curt Ashley officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. and other times at the home of his son, Mark Harris, 1651 Penn Store Road, Spencer, Virginia.
