John Hill Murray died yesterday at 12:30 O' Clock p.m. at the home of his son Charles Murray, in Dodds Township. Mr. Murray's age was 77 years, 10 months and 2 days. He had lived in Jefferson county 16 years. Mr. Murray's wife died years ago. He is survived by three sons, Charles and Fred of Dodds township, and Tom of West Frankfort, one brother residing in Sumner, IN and 12 grandchildren. Mr. Murray made his home with his son Charles. Death was due to cerebral apoplexy. Funeral services will be held tomorrow at the residence of Charles Murray at 12:30 o'clock p.m. and burial will follow in Williams cemetery. The services will be conducted by the Rev. Hosea Smith. (Reference: Mt. Vernon Register-News September 26, 1928)
