Garlin E. Foster of Creighton, Missouri was born October 27, 1923 in Elizabeth, Arkansas the son of Elmer D. and Senora Haughn Foster. He departed this life on Friday, April 17, 2015 at his home near Creighton at the age of 91 years, 5 months and 21 days.
Garlin moved to Kansas City, Missouri and was employed as a machinist mechanic for the American Can Company in North Kansas City, Missouri until his retirement in 1976. While living in Kansas City he met and married Jan Barton, on March 12, 1960, later that year a daughter, Diane was born. They later moved to Creighton, Missouri where they purchased a farm and their son, Dennis was born. Three years later they were blessed with another daughter, Deann.
Garlin is survived by two daughters, Diane Hammond, Smithville, Missouri; Deann Bauer and husband, David, Gladstone, Missouri; a son, Dennis Foster, Creighton, Missouri; grandsons, Jamie and Ryan Behl, Tyler Burton, David and Steven Foster and Dustin Stevenmer; a granddaughter, Brittany Morgan; great-grandsons, Jacoby Foster and Ty Morgan Spangler; great-granddaughters, Raleigh and Ashlyn Behl, Jasmine Foster and Rhea Burton; two sisters, Agnes Foster Reasons and Leta Foster Owens; other relatives and a host of friends.
Funeral services were April 25, 2015 at the Dickey Funeral Home, Garden City, Missouri, followed by burial in the Grant Cemetery, Creighton, Missouri.
