Obit: (Written by Emily Crater)

My handsome brother, Daniel E Crater JR, 19 of New Bloomfield, has joined my Grandma Sharon Sheaffer, and our sister, Rebecca in heaven. DJ had an awesome sense of humor and together we overcame a lot of obstacles in our lives. His best friends, Ben Copenhaver, Chase Decker, and Caleb Knaub always knew he had their backs during many hours of hunting, fishing, working on cars or just gaming.

I, Emily Crater was DJ's FAVORITE sister. DJ spent the his junior and senior year living with Lisa and Ken Papp, Elliottsburg. They loved him like their own son. Sharon Shirey gave him guidance and love him as a son.

DJ is also survived by his paternal grandparents, William and Jean Crater of Delaware. Aunt Theresa Krumbine and family of Sunbury and Katie Miller and her family. Kaycee Decker, Jennifer "Sage" Price, Jessica Wilson, Luke Shirey, and their families who choose him as a brother.

A 2016 Graduate of West Perry and Perry Cumberland Vo-Tech receiving his diploma in welding.

He was connected with the Newport Assembly of God and especially enjoyed attending family camp.

Memorial Services will be held at the Newport Assembly of God, 255 N. 6th St, Newport. Friday, March 24, 2017 at 11AM, followed by a time of sharing memories at the Family Life Center, Red Hill Newport. Pastor Jerry Wise and Pastor Kris Hill officiating.

Arrangements are under the care of Doug Boyer Funeral Home, New Bloomfield.
