Sioux Falls, Steven John Hopper Sr., age 52, died on Thursday, March 3, 2011 in Sioux Falls following injuries received in a house fire.
Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM on Thursday, March 10th, 2011 at George Boom Funeral Home in Sioux Falls. Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, with the family present to greet friends from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
Steven John Hopper was born on May 21, 1958 to Ralph Jr. and Yvonne (Baker) Hopper at French Camp, CA. He received his education in California and graduated from Franklin High School in Stockton, CA. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps. In the mid 1980s he moved from California to make his home in Sioux Falls, where he worked various construction jobs. He was united in marriage with Linda Jean Hilt, from this union the couple had three sons. Ten years ago he met and fell in love with Victoria Larson in Sioux Falls, the couple had two sons.
Steven was a loving father who liked to spend his spare time hunting, fishing and camping with his family.
Grateful for having shared his life are his significant other, Victoria Larson of Sioux Falls; four sons, Steven J. Hopper Jr., Shannon J. Hopper, Samuel J. Hopper all of Canton and Seth J. Hopper of Sioux Falls; siblings, Susan (Allen) Beirholm, Manteca, CA, Sherri Tullous of Millbank, SD, Stacey (Kenneth) Brotzel of Millbank, SD, Sheila Beavers of Stockton, CA and Shannon Hopper of Stockton, CA; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents; son, Sage Hopper; and two brothers, Stanley and Shawn Hopper.
