Kenneth Durell Coleman was born on February 28, 1974 in Chicago, Illinois to the union of Linda (Baltazar) and Franklin Coleman Jr.

Kenneth received his education through the Park Forest and Chicago Public School Systems. He graduated from Gage Park High School in 1994.

Kenneth professed his belief and hope in Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior in 1985 at Christian Fellowship Church in Chicago, Illinois, where the late Kenneth Bonner was Pastor.

As a young boy, Ken loved to write and produce plays and skits with his brother and cousins. They affectionately called their little company Ghetto Theater. They produced comedies as well as dramas and the family was always entertained. After high school he pursued this passion through the Chicago Public Broadcasting System (PBS) where he achieved certificates of completion in videography and editing. He was sought after to do shows for people who wanted to produce on PBS.

In 1996, Ken began a 9 year association with the Cook County Department of Corrections as a Cook for the officers. It was during this time that Ken's passion for cooking began to take hold. He was accepted into the Chicago Food Depository's Culinary Program. He graduated in June of 2009. He worked for South Shore Hospital from 2012 - 2015.

He had just started an association with the Chicago Public School System and was looking forward to a fruitful career.

On February 27, 2017, Ken was found deceased in his apartment. His sunset came one day before his 43rd birthday. The sun set on one of earths angels. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Addie and Franklin Coleman Sr.; his grandmother, Maxine Collins; and one uncle, Melvin Baltazar.

Ken leaves to cherish his memories, his mother and father, Linda B. and Franklin D. Coleman Jr.; a brother, Maurice D. Coleman (Jessica); two nephews, Franklin III and Maurice Jr.; four aunts, Gloria Pullom (Ross), Theresa Coleman, Venita Colon (Juan) and Josie Soto (Gilbert); three uncles, Brian Coleman (Betty), Ronald Coleman (Jill), and Kevin Coleman (Tammy); cousins/sisters, Qiana Harrell (Eric) and Terona Guernsey; cousins; April Clark, Mario Coleman, Louis Coleman, Lavell Ware, Chugga Chavers, Jamere Coleman (Rebecca), Adrick Coleman (Daniela), Autumn Coleman, Andy Soto (Vanessa) and Ana Prieto (Able); two great uncles, Jerome Seaton and Allen Seaton; three great aunts, Beatrice Taylor, Eunice Handy and Doris Cross; God-brother, James Bates; God-sister, Tracy Bates; and a host of friends and extended family of God.
