Orson Bodily passed away at his home March 14, 2017, at the age of 83, after a short battle with cancer and renal failure.

Orson was born April 6, 1933 at the family home in Fairview, Idaho. He was the youngest of 11 children of George Clarence and Florence Lois Orchard Bodily. He was raised on the family's 80 acre farm in Fairview and attended Fairview Elementary and graduated from Preston High School.

He moved to the Ogden area in 1951. Orson served in the U.S. Army overseas from 1953-1955. He worked for Ogden Ford for a short time; then at Hill Air Force Base, where he worked for 35 years as a production management specialist, retiring in 1987.

Shortly after hiring on at HAFB, he met his future wife, Marlene Pack, who joined his carpool. They became engaged prior to his entering the military and were married May 27, 1955 in the Salt Lake Temple, one month after he was released from the U.S. Army. Together they raised three daughters.

Orson was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day-saints and held several positions including; ward athletic director, softball coach, young men's president, Elder quorum presidency and ward clerk. He loved and enjoyed his family, working in his yard, country western music, sports and traveling. Coin and stamp collecting were also some of his passions.

He is survived by his daughters; Terri (Deon) McFarland of West Weber, Sue Ann (Steve) Jones of West Jordan and Janis (Kevin) McGill of Huntsville, Utah. Orson has 12 grandchildren; Justin(Niari), Stacie(Byran), Clint (Bobbie), Mitzi (Neil), Ty (Lacey), Kristin, Rye (Jessica), Kylee (Tremaine), Cole, Katie(Ryan), Karly and Breanne (Ben). He also has 16 great grandchildren; Porter, Ruby, Ashley, Linsey, Alissa, Brynlie, Boston, McKay, Benson, Adelaide, Case, Hinckliy. McCormick, Samson, Beck, and Bob. He is also survived by one sister, Waldene McDermott, of Syracuse and many nieces and nephews.

He is proceed in death by his parents, 6 brothers; George, Sylvan, Asa, Donald, Eldred and Theon: three sisters; Una, Lois, and Leola. And his wife of 61 years, Marlene.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West Roy, Utah with Bishop Michael Litster of the Sandridge Ward Officiating. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday, March 20, 2017 from 6-8 p.m. and on Tuesday prior to the funeral from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Washington Heights Memorial Park, Ogden, Utah.

The family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors, nurses and aides who assisted in Dads Care, including the Staff at the Kidney Institute of Utah and a very special thank you to the caring staff of Brighton Hospice.
