A viewing and visitation will be on Wednesday, March 22, 2017, 8:00 AM to 7:00 PM, at Anderson Bethany Funeral Home. Rosary will follow the viewing at 7:00 PM. A service will be held Thursday, March 23, 2017, 10:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Daniel Duran was born in Roswell, New Mexico, on September 27, 1987, to Ramon Duran and Maria Elena Duran.
He loved his favorite football team, the New England Patriots. Daniel was very active in high school where he played basketball, sootball, and in the band. His passion for music grew even more after that. As he was getting older, he started playing the saxophone among other instruments, in several music bands, La Fortaleza, Los Marineros, Los Mecánicos, El Pacto Norteño, La Furia, Consentido Norteño, and Gorreón Norteño.
He was a very amiable man with a big heart and made many, many lifelong friends in his travels throughout the Country. Daniel loved to travel either through his truck driving job or to concerts with his loved ones and band partners.
He married the love of his life, Yessenia Duran on July 24, 2008, in Las Cruces, NM, and they had four children: Diamonique, Dannyella, Uzziel, and Ulysses.
Daniel battled Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia and fought like a warrior for four years. He will be greatly missed by his wife, children, parents, sister, family, and friends.
Daniel was preceded in death by his loving son, Uriel Irai Duran; grandparents: José Jaramillo, Manuel Duran, and Celstina Espinoza; uncles and aunts: Ignacio Jaramillo and José A. Jaramillo, Natividad Duran, María Elva Alvidrez, and Lourdes Balderrama-Duran; and cousin, Ignacio Jaramillo Jr.
Surviving to cherish Daniel’s memory are his wife, Yessenia Duran of Las Cruces, NM; children: Diamonique, Dannyella, Uzziel, and Ulysses, all of Las Cruces, NM;; parents, Ramon Duran and Maria Duran; sister: Esmeralda Duran; grandmother, Teodula Jaramillo; nephews: Elias Duran, Hector Aguirre Jr, and Anthony Aguirre; niece, Kayleigh Aguirre; Bands: La Fortaleza, Los Marineros, Los Mecánicos, El Pacto Norteño, La Furia, Consentido Norteño, and Gorreón Norteño; many aunts, uncles, cousins, and numerous friends.
