ST. PETERSBURG, FLA. - Carol Ann Kanaan, 74, formerly of Berea, passed on March 16, in St. Petersburg.

She was daughter of the late Mary Conti and Frank DePinto Sr.; beloved wife of the late George D.; dear mother of Traci Ann Kanaan; and sister of Rose Marie Hierro (Steve) and the late Frank DePinto Jr. (Marcella).

Carol, with her husband, George, opened Copy Center West Printing Company in 1970. While running their business, Carol donated countless hours of service to her community, through The Berea Jaycee Wives, as a tutor and Girl Scout leader at Fairwood Elementary, the Berea Chamber of Commerce, the Berea Grindstone Festival, the Light Up Berea Parade and Berea Rotary. In 2000, Carol and George were recognized for their community service as winners of The Berea Grindstone Award. Nationally, Carol volunteered her time with the Veteran Motor Car Club of America, and organized numerous antique car shows and tours throughout the country.

Copy Center West closed in 2009, and Carol “retired” to Florida, where she became a member of the Palmetto Rotary, winning Rotarian of the Year in 2014.

Friends may call on Monday, March 27, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Baker, Osinski, Kensinger Funeral Home, 206 Front St. in Berea, where funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.

Interment will take place at Woodvale Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Berea Rotary Scholarship Fund or the Palmetto Rotary Scholarship Fund.
