David was a U.S. Navy veteran. After leaving the service, David worked at DANA in Marion, Indiana and J.I. Case in Burlington, Iowa. He enjoyed flying, woodworking, archery, photography, chemistry, and engineering.
He is survived by his sister, Rose Foughty, Huntington; and nephews and nieces, Diana S. Boeger, Daniel S. (Connie) George, Dean S. (Kristie) George, Delinda S. (Marty) Schmittler, Michael D. (Robin) Smith, Patricia (Bob) Schenkenfelder, and Marcia (Tom) Archambault.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Smith; and nephews, Andrew Smith and David S. George.
Privates services were held for David, and he is interred in Thrailkill Cemetery
