Glenda Good Simmons, 77, of Hickory, passed away, Friday, March 17, 2017 at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory.
Born March 9, 1940 in Catawba County, she was the daughter of the late Gartha Mae Crooks and Horace Leonard Good.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Leonard Ray Simmons; two brothers: Blaine Good and Donald Good; and a number of brothers and sisters-in-law.
A member of Viewmont Baptist Church, Glenda retired as an Accountant with Menzies Southern Hosiery Mill. She had a witty personality, was a wonderful caregiver to her husband and loved her son dearly.
She is survived by her son, Lendall Simmons of Hickory; sister, Linda G. Hildebran of Hickory; two brothers-in-law: Bruce Simmons and Marion Roseman, both of Hickory; three sisters-in-law: Hilda Simmons, Jeanette Good and Candace Simmons, all of Hickory; and a number of nieces, nephews and cousins.
The funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, March 20, 2017 at Viewmont Baptist Church with the Rev. Dr. Jay Robison officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens in Hickory.
The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 1 – 2:00 p.m. at the church.
