York, Arlene M. Roberts, 95, died peacefully, Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Misericordia Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in York on March 9, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Charles E. and Flora E. (Keller) Campbell. Arlene was the loving wife of Carl C. Roberts; he died in 1997.

Arlene was a loving homemaker, and also helped her husband Carl, who was a building contractor, by doing the business's books and designing home plans.

She was an active member of Bethany United Methodist Church, York, since 1934. She was active in the church choir, and also sang as a soloist at weddings, funerals and church services at Bethany and in the York community.

Arlene is survived by her son, Charles C. Roberts and his wife, Deborah K. Maples; her daughter, KayLouise C. McGarry and her husband, Daniel E. McGarry, Jr.; her granddaughter, Kaitlin E. Blackborow and her husband, Mark G. Blackborow; and her grandson, Daniel E. McGarry, III. She is also survived by three step-grandchildren, Cynthia T. Grimes, Judith A. Cochran and Fred G. Wood, Jr., 11 step-great-grandchildren, one step-great-great-grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

A funeral service for Arlene will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017, from Bethany United Methodist Church, 1401 Mount Rose Avenue, York at 11 a.m., with Pastor Dennis McCleary officiating.

Interment will follow in Mount Rose Cemetery. A viewing will be held at the church on Tuesday from 10 a.m. until the time of service.
