PEARL MANGOLD, FORMER SHELBY RESIDENT, KILLED
Shelbyville, Mo., May 12. — Pearl Mangold, 35 years old, son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Mangold, of northwest of town, and for several years identified with the business life of Shelbyville, was killed Monday afternoon in the tornado which destroyed Poplar Bluff, Mo. No particulars of his death are available at this time, the press report of his death having preceded the telegraph message to relatives here.
Mrs. Mangold and little daughter, Erlene were not injured according to the message.
Mr. Mangold was born in Shelbyville community, as was his wife, who before her marriage was Miss Gertrude Prange, and for several years conducted a Buick sales and service agency here. He was employed in this same work at Poplar bluff at the time of his death.
Clinton Mangold, a brother, and Mrs. Emma Prange, mother of Mrs. Mangold, left here yesterday for Poplar Bluff. No particular concerning funeral arrangements can be made until after their arrival.
Mrs. Cline Owens and family, the former a Shelbyville girl, escaped the disaster. Mr. Owens' business property, a Coca Cola plant, was located about block from the affected section of the city and also escaped destruction.
