Elmo A. Ford
Elmo Austin Ford went to live with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, March 20, 1999, from heart complications following shoulder surgery.
He was born to Charlie and Cassie Ford in Jane, Missouri, on April 23, 1919. He married the love of his life, Irene Ellis, on April 15, 1939, by the side of the road on the McDonald and Newton County line by car light. Through his life, Elmo did custom trucking, hauling hay, bucking spuds, and spreading fertilizer. He has also worked for Clear Springs Trout Co. and driven bus for the local bus companies, currently North Side Bus Co. He thought his bus kids were the best. He also often remarked about the wonderful group of people he worked with at the Bus barn. They were like his second family. The coffee drinking buddies were also a highlight of his life. Even if we kids were out for a visit, when the time came, he'd say, "well, I gotta go, it's coffee time." He thought each of you was special. His biggest hobby was going to auctions and yard sales to find a bargain. Elmo was a faithful member of the Buhl First Assembly of God Church. He loved the God he served and lived his whole file for this day. He loved his family very much, "every one of youin's."
He is survived by his wife, Irene; three daughters, Darlene (Chuck) Stults, Rozelle (Glen) Clark. and LaVone (Donny) Jones; a sister, Beulah (George) Clark; brother-in-law Wayne (Evelyn) Ellis, all of Buhl; brother-in-law, Paul (Joyce) Ellis of Boise, sister-in-law, Christine (Carl) Berry of Commerce, Oklahoma; 7 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren; a most loved cat "Tenchen"; numerous nieces; nephews; and a host of friends. We'll miss his intercessory prayer, words of wisdom, wit, humor, and precious love.

The funeral will be held Wednesday, March 24, at 1 p.m., at the Buhl First Assembly of God Church with pastor Rusty Huwa officiating. Burial will follow at the West End Cemetery. Friends may call at the Farmer Funeral Chapel on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
