Samuel A Elmore, 81, of Indianapolis, formerly of Clayton, died Mar.16, 2017. Services will be held 11 am Tues. Mar. 21, at WEAVER & RANDOLPH FUNERAL HOME CLAYTON with visitation 4-8 pm Mon. Mar. 20. Burial will take place in Clayton Cemetery.

Sammie was born Sept. 05, 1935 in Clayton to Glendon and Gladys "Faye" (Pettit) Elmore. He was a graduate of Clayton High School. Sammie was a member of the Clayton Baptist Church, a 50 year member of the Clayton (Belleville) Masonic Lodge, and the International Order of Odd Fellows. He had been a supervisor for the former Van Camp Hardware, Gage Company, currently Ferguson, Inc. in Indianapolis for 40 + years, retiring in 2001.

Survivors include his mother. "Faye" Elmore-Clayton, children, Susie (Steve) Cole, Kathaleena Kaufman, Amy and Samantha Elmore, Robert and John Elmore, all of Indianapolis, Kelly (Colleen) Farris-Morgantown, 18 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, sister, G.Kaye Alexander-Clayton, and Lula (Richard) Armstrong-Indianapolis.
