Missy Veach-King, age 39, of Daytona Beach, FL and Dallas Center, IA, died Sunday, March 12, 2017 from injuries suffered in a motorcycle accident.

Missy was born on June 25, 1977 to Kermit “Dean” Veach and Sherrill Lynn Hodges of West Des Moines. She grew up in Valley Junction and went to high school at Valley High School.

After high school she pursued a career in child care and became the owner and operator of her own day care business, Discovery Days Childcare in 2003.
During this time she met her husband, Kyle, and they were married on October 19 of 2002.

Kyle and Missy enjoyed riding motorcycles, taking trips especially to their second home of Daytona Beach. They also enjoyed going to concerts.

In her time working as a daycare provider and nanny she formed close relationships with the kids she cared for.

A visitation with the family will begin at 5 p.m. with a celebration of life service starting at 7 p.m. on Friday, March 24th at O'Leary Funeral Services in Norwalk.

Missy is survived by her husband, Kyle King of Dallas Center, Iowa; her father Dean (Lina) Veach of West Des Moines, Iowa; two brothers, Michael and Christopher Veach both of Des Moines, Iowa; mother-in-law, Carol King of Cumming, Iowa; and two brother-in-laws, Kevin King of Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Michael King of Iowa Falls, Iowa.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Sherrill Lynn Hodges and father-in-law, Thomas E. King.
