He was born in Callahan, FL and his parents were Leon Edward and Iona Augusta Danielson Sikes.He is preceded in death by 2 sisters, Patsy S. Ham and Mary Ann Sikes.
He served in the U.S. Army in the Korean War and worked as a delivery man for Pony Express and was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia Ann Taylor Sikes of Nahunta, GA; 2 daughters and their husbands, Iona and Jerry Aldridge of Waycross, GA and LeAnn and William Herdman of Hinesville, GA; a Step-daughter and her husband, Sharon and Tony Bernardo of Macon, GA and a step-son and his wife, Chuck and Hope Folker of Ocilla, GA; 9 Grandchildren, Mackenzie, Gabe, Shyanne, Austin, Roxianne, Cassidy, Kimberly, Kayla and Keegan; 3 Brothers and their wives, George and Aloma Sikes of Clearwater, FL, Jack and Audrey Sikes of Callahan, FL and Paul and Anna Lee Sikes of Waynesville, GA; a brother-in-law, Jimmy Ham of Nahunta, GA; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Graveside services will be 3 p.m., Monday (Jan. 29,2007) at Smyrna Cemetery, Lulaton, GA with Rev. Monroe Gill officiating.
Honorary pallbearers will be Tony Ham, Johnny Crews, George Pringle and Jack Sikes.
