Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon, February 9, at 2:00 p.m. for Christopher P. Holmes, who passed away at his home in Nocona February 8, 1939. Services were conducted at Terrel, Oklahoma, with Rev. Floyd Duke of Marlow, Oklahoma officiating. Interment was made in the Terrel Cemetery under the direction of the Daugherty Funeral Home of Nocona.

Christopher P. Holmes was born in Louisville, Kentucky, January 20, 1863 and died at the age of 76 years and 18 days. In 1887 he was married to the first Mrs. Holmes and to this union were born four children. In 1897 he was married to his second wife and to this union were born four children. He is survived by his wife and six children. Only one of his children, John Holmes, live in Nocona._

Christopher P. Holmes was born in Louisville, Kentucky, January 20, 1863, and died at Nocona, Texas, February 8, 1938.

He was united in marriage with Miss Nancy E. Calico in 1887. To them were born four children: Mrs. Betty Venable of Ardadia, Oklahoma; Mrs. Cora Cozart, Buffalo Springs, Texas; Leonard Holmes, Ramsey, Texas; Mrs. Minnie Cook, who died September 25, 1923.

In 1897 Mr Holmes married Miss Emma Janeway and to them were born four children: Mrs. Addie Benningfield, Dallas; Mrs. Bertha Siehenhauser, Dallas, John Holmes, Nocona and Mrs. Jessie Elliff, who died February 24, 1925.

Twenty-six grandchildren survive and seven great grandchildren survive and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held in the Baptist church at Terral Thursday afternoon of last week at 3 o'clock, conducted by Rev. A.F. Duke of Marlow, after which the body was laid to rest in the family lot in the Terral cemetery.
