Mary Marie Burkett, 91, of Auburn died Wednesday March 15, 2017 at Auburn Village Rehabilitation Center.

She was born in Franklin County, Virginia to Datie and Rose (Fisher) McGuire.

She was active at the Heimach Center and enjoyed playing cards at the Garrett American Legion, Garrett Eagles, Auburn Moose Lodge and Logansport VFW where she was a former member of their VFW Ladies Auxiliary.

Mary married Raymond Alvin Burkett on May 23, 1944 in Logansport, IN and he passed away on January 8, 2006.

They were residents of the Logansport area until moving to Auburn in 1969. While in Logansport she worked at Gozzards (Sewing Bras),Cbolts Clothing Store, Woolworths and W.T. Grant Co. then after Raymond was transferred to Auburn she worked at Essex and Gambles.

Surviving are 2 children, Marie (Kenneth) Totten of Logansport and Pamela Dove of Auburn; 5 grandchildren, Stephen Carithers, Scott Carithers, Shawna (Chris) Martin, Chad (Cheri) Dove, Tyler (Katie) Dove; 3 Step grandchildren, Chad Totten, Kendra Sprague, Heather Totten; 10 great grandchildren, Ashlie Carithers, Brooklyn Carithers, Nash Carithers, Christopher Martin, Blake Martin, Cody Martin, Nicholas Dove, Kendra Dove and McClain JoLee Dove; 7 step great grandchildren, Katylin Totten, Blake Totten, Destiny Dill, Austin Dill, Nicolas Sprague, Jocelyn McKay, Mason Whittled and 1 great great grandson, Carter Roberts.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, six siblings, Richard, Oris, Toby, Matilda, Thelma, Virginia and four step siblings, Bill, Mamie, Lena and Dutch.

Services are 3 PM, Saturday March 18, 2017 at Feller and Clark Funeral Home, 1860 Center Street, Auburn, IN with calling 3 hours prior to the service Saturday from noon to 3 at the funeral Home.

Additional calling and service will be Monday March 20, 2017 in the Chapel at Mount Hope Cemetery in Logansport, IN. Calling starts at 1 PM and goes to the service at 3PM at the Chapel at Mount Hope Cemetery.
