James H. Leamon died in Anniston, Al and his family was shocked by the telegram announcing his death yesterday. He was a confederate veteran and leaves a wife and two sons. His body will be shipped home and burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery. The Confederate veterans will attend.

Americus Weekly Recorder,
Oct 20, 1887 p. 7 lists him as a veteran of Company K of the 4th GA Infantry.

His wife, Mrs. Tallulah Pattie Leamon has a pension application on line in the GA archives virtual vault. She shows proof of marriage on 29 Nov. 1871 in Sumter County, and states he died in Anniston, Al on April 24, 1899.

Census records show him born 1833 in Canada. He listed father born in England and mother in Canada.
