Clifton Ellsworth Carter, age 76, of Sweetwater, Texas, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at Hoyt House.

Clifton was born on November 26, 1940 in Casa Grande, Arizona to Herman E. and Nona V. (Fraser) Carter.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a longtime member of First Assembly of God church where he served as a deacon. He also was a bass player and singer at the church.. He owned and managed real estate properties. He loved playing his guitar and listening to music. He also loved plants, especially cactus and succulents. He had a B.S. Degree in Horticulture from Texas A & M University.

He is survived by his brother, Tommy Carter and wife Diane of Nixa, Missouri, niece, Rebecca Brown and husband Greg, nephew, Derek Carter and wife Holly, three great nephews, three great nieces and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Herman and Nona V. Carter.
