Eileen Ella Stone, age 91 of Leonardville, passed away Wednesday, March 15, 2017 at the Leonardville Nursing Home.

She was born on January 8, 1926 in Clay Center, the daughter of Walter and Ella (Larson) Peterson.

On December 3, 1949 in Leonardville, she was married to Chester Stone. He preceded her in death in 2016.

Eileen was a homemaker who enjoyed baking, sports and working in her vegetable and flower gardens. She had a love for keeping cats and dogs around for pets and always took great care of them all.

She is survived by her son, Roger Stone and wife Ruth of Leonardville; two granddaughters, Erin Stanfield and husband Scott of Prairie Village and Josie Willimon and husband Erik of Leonardville; three great grandchildren, Brody Willimon, Cal Stanfield and Dylan Stanfield and one sister, Milly Nelson and husband Raymond of Riley.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Walter and Lyle Peterson.

Graveside funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Leonardville City Cemetery with Pastor Kevin Larson officiating. The family will meet at 12:00 p.m. Saturday to greet friends at the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home. A procession will form at 12:45 p.m. to proceed from the funeral home to the cemetery.

Memorials have been established for the Alzheimer’s Association and Clay County Animal Rescue and Shelter. Contributions may be left in care of the Anderes-Pfeifley Funeral Home.
