Oscar L. Babb, 93, of 427 Strawberry Ridge Road, Danville, died Thursday morning, Sept. 21, 2006, at the Bloomsburg Hospital, where he had been a patient since Friday.
Born March 24, 1913, in Jamison City, Sugarloaf Township, he was a son of the late Charles Henry Babb and Lydia Ann (Sones) Babb.
Mr. Babb had been employed by Berwick's American Car and Foundry.
His hobbies included playing the guitar.
Surviving are his wife, Rosemary Huffman; his daughter, Nancy Caldwell and her husband, Ronald, of Stillwater, four grandchildren and one great grandson.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ruth (Fowler) Babb, in 1982. Also preceding him in death were the following brothers and sisters: Mabel McHenry Houseweart; John Babb; Clara Steinruck; Raymond Babb; Walter E. Babb; Pearl Travelet; Edna Kingsbury; Elmer Babb; Henry L. Babb; Jim C. Babb; and Marguerite Houseweart.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the McMichael Funeral Home Inc. 4394 Red Rock Road, Benton (Route 487). Burial will be in Whitehall Cemetery. Viewing is Monday from 10 a.m. until the time of the service at McMichael's.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Strawberry Ridge United Church of Christ.
