A memorial service celebrating the life of Carolyn Marks Mayo, age 76, of Monroe will be held at 2:00 P.M., Friday, March 17, 2017 in the Chapel of Kilpatrick Funeral Homes of Monroe. Officiating will be Pastor Ben McGehee and Pastor Betty Swanson. Visitation will begin at 12:00 P.M. until service time at Kilpatrick Funeral Home of Monroe.
Carolyn Marks Mayo was born on June 4, 1940 in Black Oak, AR to the union of her parents, Robert Wesley Marks and Cora Ann Ray Marks. She passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017 after a lengthy illness.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of 57 years, Mr. Claxton Mayo of Monroe, LA; and her children, Tracie Mayo Mathieu and her husband, Tommy of Little Rock, AR, Leah Mayo Liner and her husband, Conway of Monroe, LA and Mark Mayo; grandsons, James C. Liner, V, of Monroe, Thomas Mathieu of Little Rock, AR and Wills Mathieu of Little Rock, AR; great grandson, James C. Liner, VI, of Monroe. She is also survived by her brothers, Coach Bobby Marks of Lake St. John, LA, Jimmy Marks and his wife, Carol of Pascagoula, MS, and Freddy Marks and his wife, Marie of Vidalia, LA; sister-in-law, Millicent Mayo of Natchez, MS; and many special nieces and nephews.
Carolyn was a member of Lea Joyner United Methodist Church.
