A lifelong resident of Artesia, Kent was a hardworking and talented farmer. Fishing was a longtime hobby, and he was a member of the Pecos Valley Bass Club. Always an intellectual, Kent enjoyed a challenge, making him an exceptional blackjack and poker player. When he wasn't farming, fishing, or winning at the tables, Kent could be found watching NASCAR on Sundays. His humor, wit, and stories will be deeply missed by friends and family.
Kent was preceded in death by his father, Quentin Rogers.
Survivors include his mother Geraldyne Rogers of Artesia; his son Thomas ''TQ'' Rogers of Albuquerque, NM; his daughter Kimberly Rogers of Washington, DC; and his brother Charles Rogers of Artesia; nieces Denise Rogers of Atlanta, Georgia and KayAnne Gray of Artesia; and a nephew Christopher Rogers of Bakersfield, California.
Graveside services were Thursday, March 16, 2017 at Woodbine Cemetery for Kent Rogers of Artesia.
Ty Houghtaling will officiate the services. Honorary pallbearers are Dave Torrez, Jerry Lanning, Danny Harvey, Thomas Santo, and Justin Bagwell.
