Tink was the first of the family to put himself through college. After graduating from Syracuse University with a B.A. in Business in 1926, he joined Burroughs Adding Machine Company as a salesman, a job he held until he retired at age 65. Tink was very fond of woodworking, boating and golf. He was exceptionally gifted in work with his hands, perhaps adding credibility to his nickname. He had a strong personality which somewhat put off first-time acquaintances, but he had a warm heart and clever wit. Although his first love, Marian, would not live to enjoy Florida retirement on the golf course, a successful second marriage to Elizabeth Katherine "Betty" (Rees) Baggett lead everyone to comment that Tink was blessed with two good women. Tink lived in Theresa, Syracuse, Buffalo (Kenmore), Detroit, Syracuse, Liverpool, and Lehigh Acres, Florida.
