Hattie Pearl Ray was born Friday, August 22, 1941, to Willie Ray and Eula Mae Johnson Ray in DeKalb, Kemper County, MS.

She accepted Jesus Christ at an early age and became a member of Jerusalem Missionary Baptist Church in DeKalb, MS, and later was added to the Body of Christ at the Church of Christ in DeKalb, MS.

She was the mother of nine children, seven daughters and two sons.

Miss Hattie Ray, age 75, departed this earthly life on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at Jeff Anderson Regional Medical Center in Meridian, Lauderdale County, MS, and entered the thresholds of immortality to forever dwell in that beautiful city called Heaven where no travelers have ever returned.

She was the Mother of Everette Ezell Ray, Robert Ray, Mary Pearl Ray, Nancy Ray Brim, Shirley Ray Enterkin, Alma Jean Ray, Jeanette Ray Brown, Margaret Ray, and Infant Girl Ray; a grandson that she raised as her own child, Kasavean Ray; the Daughter of Willie Ray and Eula Mae Johnson Ray; and the Sister of Walter Ray, Willie Ray, Willie Mae Ray Clark, Rosie Ray Tingle, Daisy Mae Ray, Clara Bell Ray Grady, Earline Ray Scott, and Ethel Ree Ray.
