Mary Lee "Mimi" Drake Dineen died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, in Bozeman, Montana. She was born Oct. 25, 1934, in Springfield, IL, the daughter of Helen Moore Drake and Fenton G. Drake.

She married John R. Dineen in Springfield on Sept. 2, 1955, and he preceded her in death in 2005.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert A. Dineen; and brothers, Fenton Drake and James Drake.

Mimi graduated from Blessed Sacrament School, Springfield High School and Fontbonne University in St. Louis. In the mid-50s, she was a columnist for the Illinois State Register and worked at WTAX radio station, as well as being active in the Junior League of Springfield and the League of Women Voters. After her husband became a JCPenney Associate, she accompanied him around the country in his position as a store manager, she being a full-time mother of six children, actively involved in all of their sports and school activities as well as a reading coach in various schools. Moving around the country was easy for her as she made many friends wherever she went. In retirement in Tucson, Ariz., she became a certified teacher of pottery and ceramics.

She is survived by four sons: William Dineen (Denise) of Atlanta, Ga., Patrick Dineen of Milwaukee, Wis., Joseph Dineen of Mukwanago, Wis., and Kevin Dineen of Bozeman, Mont.; and one daughter, Molly Witte (Rick) of Mukwanago, Wis. Also surviving are her sister, Barbara Dickerman of Springfield; sisters-in-law, Mary Therese Drake of Springfield, and Nancy Standen of Girard, Ill.; and brother-in-law, Robert Dineen (Connie) of Washington D.C. There are 14 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and cousins in Springfield, St. Louis, the Chicago area and the East Coast.

Memorial services are pending in Wisconsin.
