Sheila Renee Carpenter returned to her Heavenly Father Wednesday, March 8, 2017, at her niece's home in Washington Terrace, UT. She was born in Layton, UT on September 22, 1953 to John and Modestine Carpenter.

She was raised in Ogden, UT, graduating from Ogden High School and attended Weber State University. She worked as a teacher at Ogden-Weber Community Action, OSC Childcare, then returned to Ogden-Weber Community Action, retiring in June 2011.

Sheila was a member of New Zion Baptist Church where she served as a Youth Choir Director and as an active member of the Youth Department. She sang in various choirs and was a Sunday School Teacher.

Her greatest joy and achievement was raising three sons: Marcus, Brian, and Anthony Carpenter. Her spiritual gift was giving; by giving her heart, time, and love to so many children in the community.

Her family meant the world to her. She is survived by eight Brothers: Dr. Donald Carpenter, Randolph (Bobbette) Carpenter, Johnny (Sabrina) Carpenter, Steven (Sandra) Carpenter, Byron (Natalie) Carpenter, Michael (Cynthia) Carpenter, Douglas (Robin) Carpenter, and Dennis (Cashawn) Carpenter.
