Doyle, Valerie (Cerreta) - Valerie Doyle, of Vernon and formerly of Fairfield, CT, beloved wife of J. Patrick Doyle, passed away at home on January 16th, 2012. Valerie was born on January 12, 1940 in Valhalla, NY. She was the daughter of the late Frederick and Doris Kollman. She was a graduate of Bassick High School and Housatonic Community College. Valerie was a Customer Service Representative at Peoples Bank for many years prior to her retirement. Valerie served as a Girl Scout leader at Fairfield Grace United Methodist Church in Fairfield. She and her mother Doris were active members of the National Association of Miniature Enthusiasts in Bridgeport for many years. Valerie was a member of the Vernon Nutmeg Quilters and friendly around town with shop owners at Quilting by the Yard and also Quilter's Dream in Willimantic. She volunteered at Rockville General Hospital in Vernon along with her husband Patrick. Valerie was a member of First Congregational Church of Vernon and also an organ donor. A devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she will be sadly missed by her children, Elizabeth Gaughan & Rich Evans of Seymour, Angela & Phil Doughty Sr. of Vernon, Mary (Cerreta) & David Mousch of Shelton, her brother Frederick Kollman & Helen Schultz of San Antonio, TX, her grandchildren, John Gaughan III, Philip Jr. & Kathryn Doughty, Diana Doughty, Dale Mousch and great-grandson John Gaughan IV, many friends and relatives including her first husband, Vincent Jerry Cerreta and his wife, Vivian, and also her two cats. Her hobbies included reading, quilting and collecting fabric and quilting books. Friends and loved ones may call TODAY, Thursday January 19, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. Funeral services will be on Friday January 20, 2012 at 11:00 a.m at the funeral home. Both will take place at the Spadaccino and Leo P. Gallagher & Son Community Funeral Home, 315 Monroe Turnpike, Monroe, Connecticut. Interment will be at Mountain Grove Cemetery in Bridgeport
