Patricia Jane Griggs, 61, of Prattville passed away May 2, 2016. Memorial will be held at Prattville Memorial May 5th, 6-8 p.m.
Jane was born in Prattville to James (Judge) Cothran and Margaret Barber Cothran. Her grandparents Wallace and Addie Barber along with Cabot and Alice Cothran.
Jane was active in the community working as a medic as well as a labor/delivery tech at Baptist Hospital. Jane was a former volunteer firefighter for many years at Pine Level and Marbury Fire Departments. Jane was an animal lover, and for years trained as well as competed in rodeo barrel racing and other western riding events. She worked closely with the Pine Level Horseman's Association.
Jane is preceded in death by her parents James (Judge) Cothran, Margaret Barber Cothran. Also her grandparents Wallace and Addie Barber, along with Cabot and Alice Cothran.
Jane is survived in death by her brother James Michael (Mickey) Cothran (Norma Cothran), her daughter Staci Henderson Smith (Micah Smith), her son Zachary Benjamin Griggs (Amber Griggs), Her four grandchildren Logan, Lexi, Alana, and Tucker. Also her furbaby Maggie May.
In lieu of flowers you can make donations in her honor to the Autuaga County Humane Shelter.
A memorial service in Jane's honor will be held Thursday evening May 5th from 6-8 p.m. at the Memory Gardens Chapel in Prattville.
