Every record seems to have a different birthdate for him. I believe his headstone is incorrect, that he was actually born in 1852. He has a younger brother born in 1853.
Was killed by a train in Granite City, IL. Was in St. Louis, MO for at least 11 years suing other companies for copyright infringement on his company Ford Automatic Boiler Cleaning Company. He was having an affair with a woman half his age at time of his death. His wife and children were stunned. His daughter Ruah and her husband had to go down there and claim his body from the other woman.
