Mr. Garrison lived in Boswell, Indiana for over 40 years before moving to Gainesville, Florida. In 2005, he moved to Jonesborough, Tennessee. He was a Ford mechanic for 30 years and then went on to open Garrison Super 98 service station in Boswell which he operated for nine years. In addition, to operating his business, he was a farmer for many years. Prior to retiring, he worked as a maintenance supervisor for several federal buildings in Indiana and Florida. He also served 17 years as a Boswell Fire Department volunteer, was a charter member of the Boswell Business Association, member of the Boswell Rotary, and was an assistant Boy Scout Leader. He also was a longtime member of the Boswell Church of Christ which he was a servant leader as a deacon and on the building committee. After moving to Tennessee, Mr. Garrison was a member of Boones Creek Christian Church. In his retirement, he enjoyed wood working, gardening, and spoiling his grandchildren.
He was the son of Pem and Essie Garrison who preceded him in death. Mr. Garrison was also preceded in death by his beloved wife of 54 years, Marian J. Garrison and a daughter-in-law, Becky Garrison.
Mr. Garrison was a loving and devoted father who was loved very much by his family. He is survived by four children, Cindy (John) Raihl, Russell Smith (Tricia) Garrison, Jr., Ginny Garrison and Rex S. (Jennifer) Garrison; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
