Hattie Beth Burditt True, 96, of Portland, Texas went to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, May 15, 2008. Hattie Beth was born November 11, 1911 in Lockhart, Texas to Charlie and Hattie A. Burditt. She is preceded in death by parents, husband Wade N. and son Sterling, sisters, Victorine, Charlene, brothers David and Tom. In 1914 Hattie Beth and her family moved to Robstown, Texas and began farming in S/W Robstown. She graduated from Robstown High School and attended Texas Women's College, Denton. She married Wade N. True on September 27, 1936 and moved to Portland in 1943, moved to Largarto Creek, Texas in the 70's. She was raised in the Methodist Church and was very active in the Portland First United Methodist Church teaching Sunday School, leading Bible Studies and serviced on multiple committees and being one of the founders of the Portland FUM Women. Upon moving to Largarto Creek she and her husband became very active in West Shore Baptist Church. Her life was built on the love of her family, fishing, cooking and playing in her garden. She is survived by daughter Carol Jean Zieschang (Roy) of Georgetown, Texas, sons, Ted W. True ( Nancy) of Inverness, Florida, Pat True (Kay) of Portland, Texas; five grandchildren Tammie Robinson, Pamela Foster (Daniel), Daniel Zieschang (Mary), Vonda Lott (Crews), Patrick True (Laura); ten great grandchildren Rachel Robinson, Megan McClane, Jennifer and Katlyn Foster, Danny and Kailey Zieschang, Preston and Conner Lott, Erin, Calvin, Lacey True; and one great-great grandchild Madeline Miller. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the care she was given by the staff of the Pavilion, Coastal Palms Nursing Home and Vista Care with a special thanks to Linda, Pauline and Abel. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2008 at First United Methodist Church in Portland, Texas. At the family's request they wish to have a private interment. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in her Memory to First United Methodist Church in Portland, Vista Care, or a charity of your choice. Pallbearers will be Daniel Foster, Dan Zieschang, Danny Zieschang, Crews Lott, Donald Jackson and Patrick True.
