Hazel Cole Miles of Georgetown, Texas passed away peacefully on February 17, 2011. She was a resident at Park Place Nursing Home Georgetown, Texas. She was preceded in death by her husband of 69 years, Ernest Harold Miles. She was also preceded in death by two children, daughter Susan Miles Baldyga of
Higganum, Connecticut and son Gary Ernest Miles of Morristown, Tennessee and son-in-law Robert Gasior of Cromwell Connecticut.

Hazel was born in Three Rivers Massachusetts November 30, 1914, one of nine children born to Elizabeth and David Cole. She raised her family of four children in the Portland, Cromwell area of Connecticut and Morristown Tennessee.

She is survived by her daughter, Gail Tait and her husband William of Georgetown Texas and daughter Geri Gasior of Cromwell Connecticut and son-in-law Walter Baldyga of Higganum Connecticut.

She leaves behind nine grand children and fifteen great grand children. Hazel also leaves behind two siblings; sister Muriel Bendzinski of Newington Connecticut and Richard Cole of Deep River Connecticut.

She was also preceded in death by six siblings Ethel Cole, Betty Belles, Shirley
Rondinone, Tom Cole, Earl Cole, and Sam Cole all of Connecticut. Hazel and Ernest moved their family to her beloved Morristown Tennessee in 1965 where she became very involved in her bowling league, her very favorite pastime. She bowled well into her 80’s and could be found bowling in National Tournaments throughout the country every year. She won many trophies along the way. She belonged to the Rose Guild in Morristown and was an avid and outstanding crafter. She was an active member of the local Red Cross and contributed many happy hours there. She was a member of All Saint’s Episcopal Church in Morristown Tennessee.

There will be a Memorial service in Morristown Tennessee, the date of which will be announced. She will be laid to rest in the family plot in Morristown Tennessee next to her husband and son. The family wants to thank the staff at Park Place Nursing Home for the wonderful and loving care Mrs. Miles received while a resident there and special thanks to the magnificent staff at Lighthouse Hospice in Round Rock for their extraordinary care. Memorial contributions can be made in her name to The Lighthouse Hospice at Altenheim, 100 College St. Round Rock Texas 78664.
