Mattie Pearl Ball, 73, a resident of Paris Manor Nursing Center and formerly of Paris Route 2, was pronounced dead on arrival Monday night, Jan 4, 1993, at Henry County Medical Center.

The funeral is planned 2:30 PM Wednesday at Ridgeway Morticians with James Phelps officiating. Burial will be in Oak Hill Cemetery. Visitation is 4-8:30 PM today.

Named as pallbearers were Jerry Chamness, William Cole, Kenny Richards, Gerald Owen, Jim Poynter and Jerry Barnhill.

Born Feb 17, 1918, in Lobelville, she was a daughter of the late Sidney Johnson Miller and Annie Lucinda Carter Miller. She was married June 5, 1943, to James William Ball, who died May 11, 1986. She was a Baptist and a homemaker.

Survivors include five daughters: Lucille Chamness, Elizabeth Poynter, Margaret Collins, Shirley Carter and Vernie Barnhill, all of Paris; a son: Jerry Wayne Miller of Benton, Ky; two sisters, Clara Russell of Nashville and Geneva Copelin of Hendersonville; a brother: Earl Miller of Nashville; 17 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
