Vera Mae Richardson of Bowersville, passed away on March 10, 2017. She was 81. Vera was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Marie Smith and her husband, of 61 years, Charlie Richardson. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Alan and Carol Richardson; granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Shannon and Matt Hafertepen; grandson, Justin Richardson; great-grandchildren: Chase Richardson, Emily Hafertepen, J.T. Hafertepen and numerous extended family members and many dear friends.
Vera spent much of her retirement serving others as a volunteer at Greene Memorial Hospital. She was an avid animal lover and bingo player. Vera was a member of Bowersville United Methodist Church, until it closed, then she attended Bible Baptist Church in Wilmington, for several years.
Visitation will be held 6:00 P.M.-8:00 P.M. on Wednesday March 15, 2017 at Powers-Kell Funeral Home in Jamestown.
Services will be held at 11:00 A.M. on Thursday March 16, 2017, also at the funeral home. Pastor Josh Dixon will officiate. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Bowersville, Ohio
